Getting Started with Chart of Accounts Templates in Basis
What is a Chart of Accounts Template?
Create department or location-specific Profit & Loss statements easily with the Chart of Accounts Template (COA Template). This tool syncs accounts and dimensions from your connected ERP providers, simplifying financial management.
Creating a Chart of Accounts Template
Under Your Workbook:
Click the "+" button
Choose 'Chart of Accounts Template' from the Create dropdown.
How are monthly Accounts forecasted?
Once Accounts are synced within a COA template they're mapped to Basis Line Items.
Because every Company is unique, Basis doesn’t impose a standard formula. You have the freedom to set custom forecasts for Line Items in the COA template. Common methods include a flat rate, month-over-month growth, or using another sub-model within Basis.

Chart of Accounts Template FAQ
The data shown in Category, Detail Type, or Sub Category for accounts synced to an ERP integration are incorrect, what do I do?
As ERP integrations may categorize Accounts differently, we apply our best guess using AI to generate your COA dimensions. If the mapping is incorrect, first check your categorization within your ERP provider for the account and tagged Journal Entries and correct any issues, then re-sync your data with Basis. If this is still incorrect, contact Basis support for additional help.
