Ever Faced Formatting Hiccups When Pasting Data into Basis?

Basis tries its best to adapt to values copied from Excel and Google Sheets. However, these programs often have their own unique formatting styles, which can get a bit tricky for Basis to interpret.

It's All About Formatting: Excel and Google Sheets sometimes use special formatting for cells. When this formatted data is pasted into Basis, it might throw our formulas off track, leading to errors.

Here's How to Smooth Things Over:

  • Remove formatting: Before copying data from Excel or Google Sheets, switch to an unformatted view. This means getting rid of any special formatting and characters like '$', '()', or ','.

  • Tidy up empty cells: If you see any '-' signs, replace them with either empty cells or zeros.
